Questions about infagon

Postby Tigran on Fri Dec 18, 2009 5:33 pm

Hello, thanks for reading my topic.

Firstly,
What does Infagon differ from CaseTalk except the fact it's free of charges? (does it miss anything casetalk has? because I didn't really notice it)
However I did miss one thing. When I enter a new expression to qualify I usually copy/paste the sentences from a .txt file i have on my pc (i like to write them all down, then insert them into the application.) So when i copy one sentence (ctrl+c) and paste it in the area for the expresson (ctrl+v) it does copy there, but all my spaces are gone.

In CaseTalk it replaces the spaces with those dots. In here, they're gone.
Any ideas of how to solve this?

Used applications:
Infagon 5.0
Infagon 5.1 (beta)
Notepad

Operating system:
Windows (7 enterprise)

Thanks in advance,
Tigran

Hi,
I can remember Casetalk had release notes on their sites giving you a good impression of the differences. Both tools were created from the same initial source code (The FCO-IM Casetool). I don't track their changes so I cannot give you a more detailed answer.
Regarding the bug, it took me some time to recreate the situation on a Windows 7 machine. The good news: the bug is confirmed and there is a workaround. The bad news: My development environment isn't installed on Windows 7, so I can't debug and fix this right now.
The workaround is to create a little more sophisticated notepad file, like this:

Code: Select all
[EXPFILE, WIN]

[Student]
"There is a student Peter Johnson."
"There is a student John Hendrix."
"There is a student Jan de Groot."

[City Of Residence]
"Student Peter Johnson lives in the city New York."
"Student Jan Hendriks lives in the city New York."

Now give this file the extension .exp and store it in your project folder. Go to the project manager and add this file to the project. Double click it, select the lines you wish to process and click Qualify.
Kind regards,
Jeanot
